With more lifts running this summer in Val d'Isere and Tignes and a greater focus on mountain biking Eduard Roland, a friend of Progression Ski & Snowboard, has set up a new mountian bike school called On Gravity. Progression Ski & Snowboard School have been experimenting with novel and, at times, radical new teaching techniques and products to enhance the "client eperience". Axela Harav, journalist for the New Adventure Magazine recently visisted Val d'Isere to try the new One Day Miracle Lesson. This is how it went.

It was then downstairs for some yen yoga with Jen and a relaxing massage from Baz, the Progression physiotherapists. Our old friend Chris Harling eventually got around to sending us some photos of his successful climb of Mount Everest. It is about five years since he managed it but we thought we would share a couple of photos with you. We helped him out with some kit back then and all we got were these lousy photos from him!! Brilliant effort by the big guy. One day we might even get him on our team as a Guide de Haute Montagne.

Somebody loves us! We skied with a few journalists in early December and Ken is now strutting his tuff around town as we speak! We didnt even pay for this. Promise.

"I could now enjoy the full gamut of ski opportunities in Val D’Isére, guided by Ken from Progression Ski School. I’ve come across a lot of instructors and coaches in skiing, and Ken is one of the best: relaxed and professional whilst individually adapting his teaching style to each client. His last film "Pyrotechnique, the birth of a ski" is an amateur documentary made in 2010, telling about the evolution of a new ski concept for freeriding. The film is not your usual heli-drop heaven but shows the manufacturing (in his backyard workshop) and the testing on the Pyrenean & Chilian mountains. Check it out on Vimeo here . If you only have a minute or two shoot forward to the 17th / 18th minute and see him pop a 120 ft cliff!

Five days on my feet and I need a rest! It was our first year as exhibitors at the London Ski Show but we did it in style with the most original of all the stands. Our eye catching 1974 VW Camper was a popular stop off - although there were as many people interested in our camper than in our GAP Course or lesson. Most of the interest for our GAP Course and Instructor Training was for 2012-2013 so very interesting. It seems that the University fees scenario and the recession is taking it's toll.

With snow on the hills in Val it seems that Winter is just around the corner so will be in touch soon with some Tour Operator deals and news.

Well what a week. The legs have recovered from Ben Nevis and enquiries for our new GAP Course program are coming in thick and fast. We were late in getting started but by the volume of enquiries it seems that people are recognising it as a great product. The ski school enquiries and bookings are very good as well so all good here.

If going up Ben Nevis is the start of our pre-season training then I have a lot to work on. The legs have been aching ever since and we even bumped into Liam from Surefoot Val d'Isere on the way down. Small world. Quick drive by Glen Coe, the Nevis Range and The Lecht (in the rain) and I realise how lucky we are to be in Val d'Isere. Scottish skiing is a different challenge that is for sure!

Well what a week. We have just launched our new Progression GAP Course and Instructor Training programme with a brand new website.  Add to that the Progression Ski & Snowboard School website also has a new fresh look.
